A Man Walks Into A Bookstore

by Maceo D. Trahan

In Half Price books in Bellevue. Time after time, I often see DVDs that I want to buy in the used video section.

The problem is every time I see something I want to buy, I remember that I'd previously seen that title on Netflix.

Netflix has made me not want to buy DVDS anymore.
Has anyone else had this feeling?

For a mere 9.99/mo Netflix has monopolized my video consumption, in total. Now, rarely I do buy Blu-Rays but as I said, it's rare.

Has Netflix taken over my video consumption or has my love of video been expounded upon and nurtured due to it's ease of discovery, consistent service and supply?
Or has Netflix help to cultivate the miser in me? Am I just happy with what's available or is Netflix just that great of a service?
